Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
Level 1+
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.

Agreed. I only needed one snail, so perhaps could put a level pet in slot 3. Not sure, as 1st snail didn't have much health at the end.

I've added a script to the strat. :)

you don't need to pass twice, i just swap to the other snail and the CD's are up on the first when i swap again

Adding my script here. I tweaked what was posted earlier, can't remember how long ago I wrote it though so someone may have already done what I did here:

change(#2)

My TD script that swaps the Snails in slots 2 and 3 after their dives rather than waiting for them to die:

standby [enemy.round=1]

ability(#2) [ self.ability(#2).usable ]
ability(#3) [ self.ability(#3).usable ]

This script works, but it immediately changes the leveling pet so no xp is gained.

Krazzie wrote on 2018-12-24 06:46:19

Just add standby [enemy.round=1] to the first line of the script

I made a little change on Graurock's strat, it's faster too, if you have the 2nd pet I swapped in:
Here I used Tiny Red Carp but you can use any aquatic pet with at least cleansing rain+whirlpool combo, 3rd slot I used a snail with absorb, acidic goo and dive. If you have multiple pets with these, it's faster if you get those that has the most power skill.

Turn 1: Any Attack
Turn 2: Swap to your 2nd pet
Turn 3: Cleansing Rain
Turn 4: water jet
Turn 5: whirlpool
Turn 6: Swap to Snail
Turn 7: acidic goo
Turn 8: dive
Turn 9+: absorb (if it still lives)

Works with Fishy, tiny carps, sea pony... on 2nd slot.

River wrote on 2018-12-14 09:22:29

Snail absorb has a 5 round cooldown now! I just switched between the two snails to keep it going while the other was on cooldown.

Kreggy wrote on 2018-11-11 10:19:05

Just did this during pet week and got 1104xp with no other buffs - during pet week it is worth lvling pets :)

HughGrection wrote on 2018-10-24 16:02:43

not worth the xp less than 300

Rameymj wrote on 2018-10-18 19:41:07

I got low EXP (297) on this one.

MuffinManKen

wrote on 2018-08-29 15:56:53

This works well. If you want to make it very slightly faster, rather than Passing twice you can just swap to your other snail.

BevansDesign#1728

wrote on 2018-09-12 17:49:55

Good idea. Here's what I came up with for that:

standby [round=1]
change(#2)
change(#3) [self(#2).dead]
use(Acidic Goo:369)
use(Dive:564) [enemy.aura(Acidic Goo:368).exists]
use(Absorb:449) [enemy.aura(Acidic Goo:368).exists]
change(#3)
change(#2)

I haven't tested those last two lines, but I think they'll work. If this ran forever, I'm pretty sure this would change to whichever snail isn't currently out when all abilities are on cooldown until they're both dead.

Zalid

wrote on 2018-09-14 17:38:24

Script does not work as there is a change at the beginning which means you just swap again next turn.
I've dusted off my scripting hat and if you change the second line to add [round=2] to it then it does now work :
standby [round=1]
change(#2) [round=2]
change(#3) [self(#2).dead]
use(Acidic Goo:369)
use(Dive:564) [enemy.aura(Acidic Goo:368).exists]
use(Absorb:449) [enemy.aura(Acidic Goo:368).exists]
change(#3)
change(#2)

BevansDesign#1728

wrote on 2018-10-18 15:36:00

Thanks, here's an even more efficient version, and this time I actually bothered to test it first!

use(#1) [round = 1]
use(Acidic Goo:369)
use(Dive:564)
use(Absorb:449)
change(#2)
change(#3)

Changed the first round to an attack, because why not get a little bit of damage in first?
Then I realized that, since the opponent puts extra cooldowns on all of your abilities, there's no need to check if the aura exists. Once one snail has used all 3 of its abilities, it switches to the other snail, which uses all of its abilities, then switches back, etc.

This is probably the fastest the fight can go with these pets. That's quite a lot of work for 246 lousy XP!

Eekwibble

wrote on 2018-08-30 00:41:51

This is a terrible battle for using a carry pet. My lvl9 got 416 xp. There is just no point. Just use the snails in slots #1 and #2.

TDScript with that in mind:

ability(#3) [ enemy.aura(Acidic Goo:368).exists ]
ability(#2)
ability(#1)
change(#1)
change(#2)

One thing these low xp fights are good for are for finishing off level 24's. I tend to save my level 24 pets specifically for these types of low xp fights. Plus, since they are almost maxed, if I get into trouble, they are high enough to help out.

Remte

wrote on 2018-10-11 06:37:21

EDIT: The battle-training stones work slightly different but you're even more likely to run into such a situation.

Pretty much this. And when you use battle-training stones, you want to have pets in as few additional experience as possible as well. I've had pets in "1-50 exp to the next level" bracket way too often, one'd be amazed what they can do with the supposedly nerfed Menagerie. ;)

(You had a duplicated comment, so I've deleted the clone. Have a nice day!)

I strongly urge you to use a H/P Snail. The two I know of are the Mudshell Snail found in Highmountain and Shimmershell Snail found in Darkshore. If you are using less powerful snails the fight might require another swap back to the first snail.

Eekwibble

wrote on 2018-08-30 00:45:53

You can use 2 H/P's and still need a swap back. Breed is no guarantee of a sub 14 round battle here, although it is the only way to have a chance at one.

Prudentius

wrote on 2018-08-30 14:28:57

Low Dive damage is the general cause for that, but H/P snails are far better than B/B. Your snail is slow by nature after all.
