This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
Level 2+
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!

You can replace the moths with Starmoth using Wind Burst instead of Alpha Strike. The same script should work since it is set up to use the first ability without being stuck on it being one or the other.

Shadowlands comment: I've always used this one and it still works like a charm with a level 1 pet. I use Amber Moth P/S as that seems to have the highest attack of all my moths.

Don't quite know what changed, but I am experiencing a high failure rate following this strat, mostly due to the RNG of Mollus' dive damage and whether or not moth dust puts Skimmer to sleep. Successful mayyyyybe 50% of the time. Looking for new strat.

Worked perfect with SL pre-patch.

Amy wrote on 2020-10-08 19:43:49

I have been using Zoom in my first slot, he is good on the first pet but "slow and steady" demolishes his snail pet. You can power it up while his is underwater. Hope this helps!

Archaotic wrote on 2020-07-14 10:52:18

By Soothed are you intending to refer to the debuff "Drowsy"?

Gráinne

wrote on 2020-07-14 11:46:12

Yes, I'm sure this must be the meaning. "Drowsy" is caused by Skimmer's ability "Soothe".

altered the TD Script because it was missing surge

Excellent strat. I was so fed up with Anub Idol's ~40 round borefests.
I had a play with the script as well. the current one uses Blood in the Water when Mollus is submerged and it uses Cocoon Strike even when just one hit from Alpha Strike could kill Skimmer.
To keep it short I changed the tactic slightly to use BitW on Diamond's 3rd round.

change(next) [ self(#1).dead & ! self(#3).played ]
ability(Blood in the Water:423) [ enemy.round=3 ]
ability(Surge:509) [ enemy.round>1 ]
ability(Cocoon Strike:506) [ self.aura(Drowsy:496).exists & enemy.hp>405 ]
ability(Moth Dust:508) [ self.ability(Moth Dust:508).strong ]
ability(#1)

I cannot figure out why this says 'any level 10+ pet' when any lvl1 will survive even if Howling Blast crits. It is strong against mechs and their racial will save them. No other type has a low enough health pool @lvl1 to be killed.

(OP) Prudentius

wrote on 2018-10-07 13:42:20

I think it's a remnant of a prior starter pet. The script is a near-direct transcription of my old shorthand I used for Rematch notes prior to TD coming along.

I also loathe placing abilities on a static round of the fight no matter what the reason.

(OP) Prudentius

wrote on 2018-10-07 14:17:54

Also, Blood in the Water is not strong against Mollus so should not ever trigger. Regardless, the script only had a lite touch up for the pet swapping before I posted it here. A full revision is now. It accounts for the slim possibility that Snarly will survive the Dive attack and use Rip then Surge before dying.

Eekwibble

wrote on 2018-10-09 10:27:45

I don't understand why you would be so against using abilities on a static round when the battle has a static format. Also, regardless of whether BitW is strong vs Mollus or not, it does more damage than Surge so not using it is counter-intuitive. If Snarly survives Dive and lands with BitW, it can leave Mollus almost dead if not actually dead, which speeds up the battle.

I use Link and it works extremely consistently. Some might prefer a faster snail removal, of course.

I used that for a time. If you want it here please list it in a strategy you submit rather than posting it in the comments of another strategy.
