  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

Low XP
Breed
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.

G'nathus didn't have time for Swallow You Whole...had to do Pump, Pump on my first pet and pray to RNG. Won while only having 2hp left. xD

works well, but if u take any crit on G'nathus it may fail.

DragonsAfterDark

I used this, but put an Emperor Crab in the first slot with Surge as suggested above, and I didn't need the final move with G'nathus.

wrote on 2019-10-06 00:17:31

Did it with emperor crab(1,x,2), fen crab(1,1,2) and chitterspine deepstalker(x,2,1).
Open with surge, do the same business with the crab as this strat, whirlpool and more surge after swap, finish with prowl and dive on chitterspine.

Joe wrote on 2017-12-02 23:34:09

I put an Emperor Crab in the 1st slot and hit him with a Surge right off. That helped kill this guy before my 3rd pet used Jolt.

I completely agree ^^^. I hate 'Pass' as my first action if it's at all avoidable. Even a small amount of damage is better than just taking it on the chin.

Penguinx

wrote on 2018-12-31 16:42:38

Agree, however check health.. I used Magical Crawdad as already had it in my team for the same reason, but Bucky's first attack didn't bring his health low enough. Still won, but took a bit longer.

Snarly (1,1,2) Gulp Froglet (1,1,2) kelp Scuttler (1,2,2)
My gulp was B/B, don't know about others breeds.
1- Snarly Surge
2- Gulp water jet
3- mudslide
4- corpse explosion
5- Kelp Scuttler shell shield
6- rip
7- blood in the water
8- Snarly Blood in the water
9- Surge

Morloch wrote on 2017-09-22 11:42:59

Schahmaar wrote on 2017-09-24 04:13:58

One Crit and it fails...so...if you have nothing else...ok...else...skip it

Talia wrote on 2017-09-28 03:38:59

Morloch's comment about the breeds in those slots made all the difference in the world. I couldn't get it to work until I followed his advice and then got it the first time. Thanks!!

T'Saavik wrote on 2017-10-01 16:22:59

The 3x Fen Crab strategy worked for me with:
Kelp Skuttler H/H 112 (Green)
Fen Crab P/P 112 (Blue)
Zangar Crawer P/P 112 (Green)

katiefraggle

Definitely going with the breed matters thing here. used h/h Fen in first slot, p/p fen and p/p zangar crawler in slots 2 and 3. The second and third pet need to have enough power to get him to about 50hp before the h/h is brought back in. =)

Every time I did this with water jet in the rotation it failed, so I skipped it and then I won. Don't know if it's because my frog is B/B breed or not.

Hedu

wrote on 2017-11-14 18:58:28

I also have a B/B Gulp Froglet and experienced the same issue. I skipped water jet as you suggested and it worked out fine. Thanks for the tip!

Zmiester#1293

wrote on 2018-02-24 13:17:44

I used a B/B Gulp as well and the strategy worked flawlessly. Exactly as written. Thanks so much ! It must not be a breed thing.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-17 09:11:16

I didn't have Gulp.
What I did was using Toothy 1-1-2 Fen crab 1-1-2 and G'nathus 1-1-1
1: Surge
2: Spiny Carapace, Rip, Blood in the Water
3: Thunderbolt, Dive, Swallow you Whole
4: Rip, Surge

Schahmaar wrote on 2017-09-24 04:18:09

Same for me here. Did it with Snarly. Works well. Still, if there's one Crit in the Stampede on your Crab, restart.

I didnt have toothy but had muckbreath.. same skills worked when all other strats didn't. this should be added to the strat guide. Only thing i did different was instead of rip, surge at the end i used surge twice.

Gruuby wrote on 2018-02-02 18:24:44

Used Snarly, because I didn't have Toothy, and it worked on the first try!

Cerby wrote on 2017-09-06 09:44:02

Those of you without a Gulp Froglet, a Leviathan Hatchling using Whirlpool instead of Swarm works almost as well, you just need to finish off the fight with something like Dive on the first pet.

Illestra wrote on 2017-09-06 12:51:36

Used a Kuitan Mongoose (with dive) and this strat worked great.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-09-09 16:18:30

Took me two tries because of an unlucky crit, but this worked!

dragonheals12 wrote on 2017-09-14 02:24:18

Amazing suggestion. The gulp froglet has such a low drop rate, and it's pretty much never in the AH. Unfortunately, it's got a unique power and is needed for so many things that finding a substitute is always good.

Calari wrote on 2017-09-24 15:00:20

Worked perfect first time! Thanks for the suggestion.

Ashtora wrote on 2017-10-12 17:22:08

I got unlucky a couple times but this did work, I just had to use a strong Aquatic for the first slot because I think my leviathan or spawn wasn't strong enough but this strat still works just fine

valley wrote on 2017-09-25 13:22:00

used a Hydraling 2,2,2 and spawn of G'nathus 1,1,1 ,Swallow you whole does wonders below 25%.

Saldaris wrote on 2017-09-22 12:30:32

EyeSage wrote on 2017-09-10 22:36:40

I used two pets with the move set rip surge blood in the water. Slot 1 Chuck BB and 2 Snarly HP. The higher health pet in slot 1. Spawn of G.nathus in slot 3.
Chuck Surge - switched out
Snarlt rip, bood, in the water, surge until dead or swapped
S of G, Thunderbolt, dive to bypass the Switch, Swallow you whole until dead
Pet 1 returns surge twice. or rip blood in the water if needed.

XNedra wrote on 2017-09-11 06:07:17

This worked for me, but I made the obvious change of using something with surge in slot 1.

Puppycat wrote on 2017-09-06 20:18:48

Failed first five times in a row, seems RNG dependant. Swapping in something with Surge in 1 st slot helped, get one extra hit in before your 1st guy dies/forced bac. If Bucky does trample instead of stampede against your frog you might as well just restart

Stefania wrote on 2017-09-06 08:30:07

worked at 1st try, thanks!

Quenais wrote on 2017-09-06 01:42:29

Probably worth mentioning the health cap on the random aquatic (I want to say around 1845?). Foolish me used a H/H Wander's Festival Hatchling in that slot just because, and ended up almost losing when it got switched in instead of the Spawn. Oops.
